8. Bears spend big bucks at the start of Free Agency

Many speculated that the Bears wouldn’t be major players in Free Agency.  Then the new league year and the start of Free Agency opened with a bang for the Bears.  First, they made a major improvement to their offensive line by getting an established, former Pro Bowl left tackle in Jermon Bushrod.  But wait, there’s more.  Within hours of the Bushrod signing, the Bears inked tight end Martellus Bennett.  The signings made perfect sense and validated that Emery sees what the fans were seeing and was able to address those needs.
