6. Jay Cutler injured

It’s the story line that kept giving throughout the season.  Cutler gets a lot of attention regardless, but an injury to your starting quarterback in a contract year really resonated all season long and spun off a lot of sub-stories.  Of course, there was the Lions game where Cutler rushed back and didn’t look himself, suffering the dreaded high ankle sprain that sidelined him another few weeks.  In the meantime, Josh McCown performed adequately and at times exceptionally, stirring a quarterback controversy and asking many to question whether Cutler should be brought back next season.  This will be a major storyline this offseason.
