2006 Bears May Have Smoked Marijuana During Super Bowl Week

Former Bears special teams standout Brendan Ayanbadejo came out with a quote on Thursday, saying that one of his former Conference Championship teams smoked marijuana before the Super Bowl:
"“I’m not going to say which Super Bowl it was but I just remember getting off the elevator one night — it was early on in the week, just to start the week off — and all of the sudden I just got hit over the head with fumes of marijuana on the entire floor of the hotel that the team was staying on . . . I could just imagine there were a few young guys just toking it up in more than one room.”"
This could apply to the 2006 Bears or the 2012 Ravens. I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out in the near future that it was the Bears. It sounds like a very Cedric Benson like thing to do. In case you forgot how he played in that catastrophe of Super Bowl, look at the picture.
Now I’m not making excuses for the Bears play that day. The offense was simply awful. I’m just curious which players on which team did that. It also really seemed like Rex Grossman was on something during the game. I HIGHly doubt he actually was, but some of the plays he made that Sunday gave viewers the impression that something other than the inability to play football was impairing the nightmarish quarterback’s judgement. It seemed, while watching that game, that he was dropping about 50% of the snaps. It was a disaster that drugs couldn’t have helped or hurt.
