Groups 4 & 5: Wide Receivers

Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin: Abbrederis is a potential sleeper I’ve had my eye on for awhile.  There’s a little bit of Jordy Nelson in him.  He caught the ball well, looked fluid in the positional drills and posted a time of 4.50 in the 40.

Odell Beckham, LSU:  Ran very well on the day, putting up a 40 time of 4.43.  Doesn’t catch the ball as well as I’d like.

Brandin Cooks, Oregon State: Blazed a 4.33 in the 40 and caught the ball well.  Cooks is a dynamic playmaker and was a focal point of the Beaver’s offense this season.

Kelvin Benjamin, Florida State: While his 4.61 40 time might seem slow, it’s not actually that bad if you take his 6’5″ 240 lb. frame into account.  I wish he caught the ball better.

Mike Evans, Texas A&M: Made a solid case to be a first round pick come May.  caught the ball well and ran a 4.53 40, despite being 6’5″ 231 lbs.

Marqise Lee, USC: A jack of all trades, master of none.  Lee ran a respectable 4.52 40 and caught the ball well.

Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt: His 4.46 in the 40 surprised me.  He is a great route runner and has good hands.  With the production he had in college, he could be a candidate to be a late riser.

Sammy Watkins, Clemson: The name everyone knows in this group, Watkins did not disappoint.  He has exceptional hands and movement skills.  4.43 was his 40 time and I would be shocked if he made it to the Bears at 14.

Notables-  Donte Moncrief, Mississippi: 4.40 40 time.  Martavis Bryant, Clemson: 4.42 40 time.  John Brown, Pittsburg State (KS): 4.34 40 time.
