Corey Wootton Signs 1-Year Contract With Division Rival Vikings

2 of 2

Wootton made a name for himself against the Vikings when he earned his first NFL sack and ended the career of Brett Favre in one fell swoop:

Wootton is the second Bears defensive lineman within a week to defect to a division rival.  Julius Peppers left the Bears and headed across the division to Green Bay.  Turnabout is fair play, as the Bears have taken Israel Idonije and Willie Young from the Lions and MD Jennings from the Packers.

When the Bears brought Izzy back earlier this week, I thought it would be a longshot to bring Wootton back too.  If he bounces back from injury, it’s a really solid pickup for the Vikings and a loss for the Bears.
