Jordan Palmer is preparing for his new role with the Chicago Bears, mentoring young quarterbacks. That’s right, the Bears backup quarterback seems poised to take on a larger role with the Bears besides running scout team or holding a clip board. Palmer has been spending his offseason working with NFL draft prospects to help them prepare for the Combine and their individual Pro Days. The most notable of Palmer’s pupils is UCF quarterback Blake Bortles. As potential top pick Bortles wowed in his Pro Day, Palmer had to draw a sense of satisfaction from his star student. This was a tweet from Palmer after Bortles’ Pro Day:
Excellent analysis from @McShay13 as usual. Good call on @BBortles5 You were the first to see it... pic.twitter.com/sp1JhR1p5H
