Team Needs:

Cornerback: Despite spending high draft picks (Darius Slay) and significant free agent money (Chris Houston) on the position, the Lions can’t seem to find two starting caliber corners. They should have their choice of the top two in this draft if they are willing to keep throwing resources at the position.

Wide Receiver: The addition of Golden Tate gives the Lions a legitimate receiver across from Calvin Johnson for the first time in years, but they could still use an upgrade at the 3rd receiver slot over Kris Durham.

Right Tackle: Undrafted rookie free agent LaAdrian Waddle was pretty solid in limited snaps (8 starts) last year and is currently the starter at right tackle. There isn’t much behind him on the depth chart, so the Lions could use some talent from the draft.

Linebacker: Two of the Lions three starting linebackers had great seasons (Levy, Tulloch) but they got almost nothing from their strong side backers (Palmer, McIntosh).

Quarterback: Dan Orlovsky is the Lions back-up QB. Enough said.

Kicker: David Akers was a disaster for the Lions last year. He had the 3rd lowest accuracy on field goal attempts despite the fact that the Lions play indoors. It’s time for a change.
