Chicago Bears – Mocking the Mocks

There was one of the above that had the Bears trading down with the Seahawks and selecting Jimmy Ward with pick #32.  Another interesting mock that I saw had the San Francisco 49ers trading up to #14, giving the Bears their 1st (30th), 2nd (61st), 3rd (94th) and 4th (129th).  Sign me up for that deal.  I’ll take an extra 2nd, 3rd and 4th to slide down.

One thing is clear from looking at the mocks – the Bears are going defense, with the most likely selecting a defensive tackle or a safety, with a slim chance for a cornerback or defensive end.  It all seems to make too much sense for Phil Emery and makes you wonder how he’ll zig when everyone else thinks he’ll zag.
