What is going on this week in the NFC North? Everyone is gearing up for the NFL Draft next week. While I am picking what beer to drink on Thursday, NFC North GM’s are getting their draft boards ready to build their championship teams. Oh boy, oh boy. The draft is almost here. Whats cooking in the ol NFC North this week.
Vikings

Greg Jennings says that his head is spinning after trying to learn Norv Turner’s offense. I think his head should be spinning because he doesn’t know who will be throwing the ball to him this season.
Adrian Peterson wants to break Emmitt Smith’s all-time rushing record, but he is being a good player and saying it is not his main focus. Something about learning Norv Turners offense and how the running backs are utilized as receivers. He only needs 8,240 more yards to match Smith. If anyone can do it, it will be him. Probably against the Bears.
The Vikings have high hopes for safety Harrison Smith who was sidelined last year with a turf toe injury. I think the Bears have high hopes that Chris Conte will stay sidelined after shoulder surgery this off season.
The Vikings need a lot of help in the draft. It would be easier to list what they don’t need. Running back. They might be looking for a quarterback in the first round. Could they be looking at Johnny Football himself?
Packers

Ted Thompson held his Pre-Draft press conference on Thursday just like Phil Emery did. You can watch it here. I know, I thought Phil was the only one who did those press conference thingies.
The Packers are not hosting a Draft Party due to renovation work at Curly’s Pub. But they are still letting fans watch from Lambeau Field. I know, I am confused too.
Did you want to project the Packers’ starting lineup before the draft? I know I did not, but someone did it anyway.
The Packers sure don’t need to draft a quarterback, but they do have some needs on the defensive side of the ball. Did you know that they needed better safety play? You will if you go here.
Lions

Oh boy, what is going on with the Lions? Mike Mayock seems to think that there is no sense in trading a lot to get Sammy Watkins. I for one agree with Mike Mayock for once. I know I don’t want to see Sammy Watkins opposite Calvin Johnson twice a year. The Bears better draft a good safety and cornerback. I’m already scared of Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate with Reggie Bush in the back field. Stupid Lions, they have so much potential.
Take a look at the Lions draft needs. Everyone is probably looking for a safety. Sorry Bears, all the good ones might be gone when it is your turn.
What news did I miss? Do you think that the Bears going to be on Hard Knocks? Are Bears fans arguing with Packer fans about how good Julius Peppers still is? Throw some NFC North stories down below in the comments. Come on, you know you want to. I sure hope there is a safety still left for the Bears in the first round. Oh, and I think I am going to be drinking Firestone Walker Wookey Jack on Thursday. If I can find it that is.
