Jan 7, 2013; Miami, FL, USA; Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Ha

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama (6’1″, 209 lbs)

From our draft profile:

"[Clinton-Dix] has great range, ball skills, good hands, and underrated physicality against the run. Dix is a prototype centerfielder in pass coverage and not a liability against the run. He’s not a big hitter, but is a sound tackler and takes good angles to the ball. With the NFL becoming more of a passing league, an asset in coverage like Dix is worth a first round pick."

The case to draft…

Clinton-Dix is known as a better cover safety, probably best suited to play free safety.  He’s not as big of a hitter, but he’s a sound tackler and a willing participant in run defense.  He could be the back-end ball hawk the Bears have been seeking since Mike Brown was healthy and roamed the secondary.

The case not to draft…

If the Bears think they have a free safety in Ryan Mundy, would they double down and draft Clinton-Dix?  Wouldn’t they be better served getting a strong safety.

So what do you think Bears fans?  If both of the top safeties are on the board, who would you draft, Pryor or Clinton-Dix?
