Where he fits with the Bears: Versatility is the name of the game with Fuller. I think he could, and likely will, contribute in multiple areas as a rookie. He was used extensively on special teams during all 4 of his seasons with Virginia Tech and I think that’s his floor as a rookie for the Bears. I also think he will likely beat out Isaiah Frey for the starting nickelback role in training camp. Fuller was used in that role by the Hokies during his first 2 seasons in Blacksburg and showed an exceptional combination of coverage ability and blitzing prowess. Don’t count him out on the outside either. I find it unlikely that he’ll beat out Charles Tillman or Tim Jennings in training camp, but if there were an injury to one of those two players, I think Fuller would slide out and Frey would resume the nickel duties he covered last year. And who knows, if Fuller does well enough in a starting cornerback position, one of the other guys might just find himself on the bench.
What do you guys think? What sort of impact will Kyle Fuller have as a rookie?
