Matt Slauson Days until Chicago Bears Season Opener

We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

68 more days from now, I will be glued to the TV as the Bears battle the Bills. I am as excited for a season as I have ever been. The number 68 on the Bears is possibly the most solid player on the team, Matt Slauson. Last year he ranked as the Bears best offensive lineman and as the sixth best guard in the league, according to pro football focus. I expect him to be as durable as always and play sixteen good games for the bears this season (and hopefully three to four more good ones after the season!).

Interesting fact about Slauson: He was born in Sweet Home, Oregon. I find that to be an interesting name for a city.

I think that Slauson is one of the more underrated linemen in the game and he is an extremely valuable asset to the offensive line. He’s 28 years old, so I think he can be a key contributor to the Bears for a long time.
