Marquess Wilson
Wilson is the front runner to earn the third wide receiver spot after a very shaky rookie season. He’s spent the offseason working out with Marshall, a blueprint that Alshon Jeffery followed the season before his breakout year. Wilson had top round talent, but some personality conflicts with coaches raised enough red flags to cause him to drop to the 7th round. With the strong leadership and mentoring of Marshall, Wilson could be the next big thing in 2014. He’s got enough speed to stretch the field and blow the top off a defense but needs to show good route running and the ability to get off the line of scrimmage. He’s put on some weight which should help him get off jams.
Biggest Question Mark
Can Alshon Jeffery avoid taking a step backward?
Alshon Jeffery had a remarkable sophomore season. Can he continue to ascend or is he destined to take a step back? The skeptical Bears fan in me thinks that Jeffery is due for a letdown. Can he possibly improve on nearly 90 catches and over 1400 yards? I’m choosing to ignore the skeptic in me and expect him to take his game to yet another level after another season in Trestman’s pass-happy offense.
