Sherrick McManis Days Until Chicago Bears Season Opener

We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

A star on special teams; local product from Peoria, Illinois Sherrick McManis is slowly but surely making a name for himself within the Bears organization. He was sent to Chicago in a trade from the Houston Texans, in exchange for Fullback Tyler Clutts. McManis has put himself in a position to be a contributor on defense next season. With Tim Jennings nursing a hamstring injury, McManis will be able to get more reps with the first and second team defense.

On Friday, McManis made a nice play on the ball, intercepting Eagles QB Nick Foles. McManis has a ton of potential, and with the defensive mess that happened last season, McManis will definitely get a shot to showcase his abilities throughout training camp.
