Ka’Deem Carey and C.J Wilson Days Until Chicago Bears Season Opener
We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Kickoff series last season that we decided to do it again. In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Bears September 7th season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
The Bears have two number 25’s on their roster. One of them is cornerback C.J Wilson, the undrafted free agent from N.C State. Given that he is a Chicago Bear, I hope he becomes the greatest defensive back of all time. However, I don’t expect much from him this season except very limited playing time.
The other number 25 is Ka’Deem Carey, the fourth round rookie running back. He was a consensus All-American at the University of Arizona. He was one of the more appealing running backs in the draft, but that’s not saying much considering the class wasn’t very deep. However, I have a lot of high hopes for him. The fact that he’s not Chester Taylor, Marion Barber, or Michael Bush already puts him on my good side. Most fans were fairly disappointed to see him only gain 23 yards on 10 carries in the opening preseason game against the Eagles, but I don’t think that’s a sign of what’s to come. I expect him to have typical rookie problems but to still be a decent complement to Forte. He can be a valuable asset to the offense if Marc Trestman uses him properly. I hope he doesn’t end up like another notable 25, Armando Allen, who did not have much success as a Bear.
