The Chicago Bears finally got their preseason schedule started with a 34-28 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last week.  We learned a few things last week, but should learn a bit more in the second game.  You can expect the starters to go a little longer and the key subs to get even more time.  Here are my Top 5 Players to watch in the Bears vs Jaguars game:

5. Ka’Deem Carey

The 4th round selection got plenty of opportunities to make a statement.  He showed good balance and vision, but only ended up with 23 yards and 10 carries.  The battle to back up Matt Forte is really going to take shape over the next couple of weeks.  Shaun Draughn got the nod behind Forte last week, but you’ve got to believe that the Bears will give a 2014 draft pick every opportunity to make the roster and have a substantial role.  When Carey enters the game, don’t just pay attention to his running, but keep an eye on his blocking.  Matt Forte‘s backup has to be a good blocker in pass protection.  The other factor to watch is special teams.  Backups need to be key contributors on specials teams.  Michael Ford and Jordan Lynch, who will also be vying for a spot, may have an edge as contributors on special teams.
