4. Zach Miller
Is Miller a one-hit wonder or can he build on the terrific preseason opener in which he had 6 catches for 68 yards and 2 TD’s? Martellus Bennett is expected to return to action after being suspended for the first game, so Miller will likely move down to play with the 2’s. This will be a key game for Miller to show that the first game wasn’t a fluke. Matthew Mulligan is expected to be the “blocking tight end” and Bennett is entrenched as the starter, so unless the Bears go unconventional and keep 4 tight ends, it’s a battle between Miller and Dante Rosario for the last tight end spot. Now if Mulligan doesn’t pick up his game, he could be on the outside looking in, but then you need to get Miller or Rosario to show they can block.
Get to know a little bit more about Miller, a former Jaguars draft pick after starring as a three sport athlete, including a role as quarterback, at Division III Nebraska-Omaha from our Coutndown to Kickoff series. If Miller can avoid injuries, this could be a breakout season.
