3. The safeties
Head coach Marc Trestman called Chris Conte‘s availability for Thursday night’s game against the Jaguars a “trainer’s decision” which means he’s probably not ready for live action after only a couple of practices since coming off the PUP list following offseason shoulder surgery. Some might argue that he’s not ready for live action regardless, but if you feel that way, keep your opinion to yourself or Charles Tillman might tell you to shut up.
Chris Conte was getting heckled by fans after he slipped on soggy field. A veteran #Bears defensive player tells them shut up.

For those asking, it was Tillman. He was the veteran player. I’ll just say it

I think Ryan Mundy is a pretty safe bet to be on the 53-man roster and very likely he’ll be a starter. Despite the train wreck of a season in 2013, if Conte’s healthy, he will be given the opportunity to reclaim his starting role. Adrian Wilson, who’s coming off an Achilles injury, needs to be a starter to make the roster. He brought some thump to the preseason opener and having an experienced, Pro Bowl performer at the back end would certainly help bring along youngster Brock Vereen.
