Chicago Bears Final Cuts

LB DeDe Lattimore – Showed some potential as a run-stuffing MLB and I think he will end up on the practice squad.

CB C.J. Wilson – Played well in the preseason for the 2nd year in a row with 2 INTs, but caught in roster crunch. Wilson could end up on the practice squad for the 2nd year in a row.

DT Lee Pegues – I’m surprised he lasted this long as I didn’t see much from Pegues in limited preseason action.

WR Dale Moss – Former basketball player who flashed enough potential to end up on the practice squad.

G Ryan Groy – Priority UDFA who got the biggest signing bonus from the Bears ($8k) and showed flashes of being a mauling run blocker but needs to improve his pass protection. Practice squad candidate.

S Marcus Trice – Undersized, big-hitter who showed a little of what he could do in the preseason and should be kept around on the practice squad. With the Bears lack of talent at safety, Trice could be back with the Bears at some point this season.

RB Jordan Lynch – Normally the Bears wait till the last-minute to cut players they want to bring back on the practice squad. I hope Lynch sticks around, but he’s a long shot.

T Dennis Roland – One of the biggest surprises in my opinion. The massive G/T (6’9, 323) played really well in the Bears last two preseason games and I thought he might take Britton’s swing tackle spot. It appears that the Bears like Ola and Leno better than both Roland and Britton. I have no problem with the Bears going with younger, high upside players.

G Robert Turner – Late training camp addition who played pretty well and I thought he had a shot to make the team.

WR Armanti Edwards – I will always have a soft spot for Edwards since he led Appalachian St over Michigan in 2007, but the veteran return man didn’t show much on returns or as a WR.

TE Jeron Mastrud – Was a long-shot anyway, but poor play in last preseason game sealed his fate.
