12:07 the Bears were on the scoreboard with their first touchdown. I waited for a loud cry from the basement followed by the Bears’ song, but this shout came 30 seconds later. Of course, there’s a delay between the TV in the kitchen, which is digital, and the TV in the basement, which is dish. “Did you see that?” “We have a delay hon,” The Man replied. Then I hear an unexpected shout of happiness from the basement and am now confused: did they get a second touchdown? I rushed to the TV and find out, no.

Dishes were cleaned by 12:10. As I did so, The Girl was still eating her sausage sandwich, The Boy was now playing The Girl’s I-pad, and The Man was still watching TV with a commercial break, 0-7 Bears.

12:14 I ran upstairs to get a load of laundry started. I realized I was very uncomfortable after sweating during my workout that I finished over an hour ago. I asked The Girl, again, to clean up her room and not just push the books, clothes, purses and other items of dire importance to her under her bed.

By 12:21, after a quick shower, I gathered the laundry basket, check on The Girl’s room, which was cleaned up for the most part; she is organizationally and clean-challenged so I finished putting things in her closet and placed books back on the shelves. Both The Boy and The Girl were in the basement with The Man and his mom. Let’s see how long this viewing party lasts.

So with laundry started, the kitchen cleaned up and me no longer smelly, by 12:32, my butt is on the couch with 3:47 left of the first quarter with a score of 7-7. How the hell did the Bills’ score? The Boy decided to go through his collection of Nerf guns and shoots up a door to a second room in the basement.

12:37 – I was able to start typing this post, while able to view the other important part of football viewing: the commercials. I pleasantly surprised to Kenny Rogers for Giceo. Now, I was introduced to Mr. Rogers through my grandmother when he was alongside Dolly Parton. The Man informs me that this is an old commercial; it’s new to me and now I realized that I don’t watch live tv very often. The Boy brought his gym shoes down and walked on the treadmill for a little bit.
