Bears vs. 49ers Talking Smack with Niner Noise

The Bears looked like they were going to dominate that game after their first drive when they scored a touchdown. But then, not so much. I don’t know if it was injuries or if Buffalo was just better than I thought. Regardless, the Bears weren’t what I thought they were. I know it is just the first week of the season, but I am only going to be a believer if they somehow beat the 49ers on Sunday night. I know I am jumping the gun here in the post, but I am not very optimistic. Can we talk about something else? Jay Cutler. I am starting to believe the national media after the dumb ass throw he made in week 1. I don’t know of any elite or good quarterbacks who throw the ball right to a defensive lineman. Threw across his body, might as well have been falling backwards off his back foot. You don’t make those kind of throws. I know if he had completed the pass, everyone would have been all, “only 2 quarterbacks in the league can make a throw like that and Jay Cutler is one of them.” Guess what, he didn’t. Should I be worried? A little. Mark Trestman was supposed to be the Quarterback Whisperer and all that jazz. Well, Jay is still Jay. So to answer your question, he has already reached his potential. He is who he is and hopefully he can minimize his mistakes from here on out. Other problems to address? Maybe the whole linebacking group. The linebackers on the Bears just plain suck. I was so unimpressed with how they played in week 1. Jon Bostic was just standing around looking lost half the time he was on the field. Lance Briggs looked like he ate too much BBQ at his new restaurant and Shea McClellin is not a linebacker. I don’t know what he is. Then there is DJ Williams. He was the best of the bunch and he didn’t do too much. Nothing really stood out for me. The Bears lost two offensive lineman to high ankle sprains and who knows what Alshon Jeffery’s status will be for Sunday. The Bears have some problems that need to be addressed for Sundays game. So… how’s that new stadium of yours?

"It seems like a rough start for your Bears. The 49ers are no stranger to injuries this year though. With Glenn Dorsey out alongside Bowman and seemingly most of the secondary, Cutler may be given a bit of an easier time than originally expected…but I can’t imagine it will be easier than the Bills. As for the stadium, all I can say is wow. It is gorgeous, incredibly green, has a Michelin chef doing menus and food and tailgating in the stadium, has the biggest lower bowl in the NFL, is incredibly connected via wifi, and will take a load out of your pocket book. Ticket prices are incredibly high, too. The Niners needed a new stadium, and they got a great one, but it wasn’t cheap. How is Soldier Field these days? What about Matt Forte? Is he looking any good? Are there any up and comers on the roster that may have a breakout performance one of these weeks?"

Soldier Field is still one of the smallest stadiums in the NFL. There won’t be any Super Bowls held there anytime soon. Matt Forte is still one of the best running backs in the NFL. He still has breakaway speed, power and can run routes like a wide receiver. If the Bears are smart, they will be feeding him the ball a lot on Sunday night.

There are a few rookies to watch on the Bears. There is corner Kyle Fuller and safety Brock Vereen. I think they will end up being starters on this team before the year is over.

What’s going on with Jim Harbaugh and upper management? I hear he is going to be coaching every college team in the nation by the end of next week. Where do these rumors start and why on earth did the media think he was losing the locker room?
