The Chicago Bears may not have had the best opening week of the 2014 NFL season last Sunday with their 23-20 stunning loss to the Buffalo Bills, however they’re still doing rather well in the pocketbook as it pertains to jersey sales nationwide and online.

According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, for the season thus far, the Chicago Bears are currently the only team in the NFL with three players that rank in the top 20 for jersey sales so far in this young season.
It’s not Jay Cutler that is in the top spot on the team, rather it’s wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who checked in at no. 5 overall on the week. Right behind him, though, was the man that tosses him the rock every Sunday, Cutler, at no. 6. And finally, Matt Forte is the one keeping the team in that top 20 range, as he comfortably occupies that no. 20 slot.
Do the Chicago Bears have the most famous players in the league? No, they do not. However, this fact of the team having three players in the Top 20 is yet another testament to just how loyal and rabid the fan base is. No matter how much star power the rest of the league thinks these guys have, the fans love them. Love them enough to make sure they have their jerseys on their backs to support them every Sunday.
As a team for the opening week, the Bears ranked no. 2 overall in jersey sales, right behind the Browns.
