It’s Bears vs Panthers as we hit the quarter pole of the season. The Bears closed out the first quarter of the season with a 2-2 record, which might not be too big of a surprise to some experts. It’s how they got to the .500 mark that’s surprising – 0-2 at home and 2-0 on the road. They’ll need to continue to be road warriors as they start the second quarter of their season with back-to-back games through the NFC South. Let’s see how our experts picked the Bears vs Panthers:

The Bears get the Panthers at just about the right time. Offensively, their running backs are all banged up and battered, Cam Newton is off to a slow start coming off offseason surgery and some busted up ribs. On the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers are a mess too. Their best pass rusher has been sent to the principal’s office while another D-lineman has to take another lap around the suspension track. Luke Kuechly can’t do it all by himself. The Bears wide receivers are finally both healthy for the first time since Week 1 and Matt Forte is just starting to hit his stride.

Mike Flannery (1-3)
The Bears keep their undefeated road record intact against a struggling Panthers squad. The Panthers just don’t have enough talent in their secondary to deal with multiple Bear weapons and Cutler picks them apart in a rout.
