It’s on to Week 6 and Bears vs Falcons after another gut-wrenching second half collapse.  The 2-3 Bears head to the Georgia Dome to face the 2-3 Falcons in a matchup of teams who’ve grossly underachieved.  The Falcons are sharp at home, scoring 46.5 PPG while the Bears are 2-1 on the road and in need of a bouceback win.  Let’s see what our staff thinks of this week’s action:

At least the Bears’ record is better than mine.  I can’t figure this team out and I think the problem is, they can’t figure themselves out either.  The offense has struggled to find a rhythm and their halftime adjustments have been horrible. The defense has been stagnant and predictable.  Meanwhile, the Falcons are firing on all cylinders in the Georgia Dome.  They dropped the Saints in the season opener and dropped 56 points on Lovie Smith’s Tampa Bay Bucs. All signs point to a Bears loss, yet somehow, I still believe they find a way to get it done when they have no business winning a game.  A late Robbie Gould FG lifts the Bears.

Mike Flannery (1-4)

I am tempted to pick the Falcons to win because I am still disgusted with last week’s loss, but this is a must win game for the Bears and I think they show their resiliency and bounce back with a close road win. Devin Hester is probably going to run one back and the Falcons are going to put up some points, but their defense is pretty bad and I think Cutler will come through with his best game of the season in a thrilling Bears win. Robbie Gould makes up for his miss last week with a game winner.
