  • Believe it or not, the Bears do have a decent statistical matchup with the Patriots and it’s in the red zone.  Take a look at the Bears vs Patriots in the red zone:

Red zone offense (based on TD percentage)
    Patriots: 19th (13 of 24)
    Bears: 6th (17 of 25)

Red zone defense (based on TD percentage)
    Patriots: Tied-13th (13 of 24)
    Bears: 8th (15 of 29)

The good news for the Bears is if they get into the red zone, they’re scoring a touchdown 68% of the time.  Meanwhile, the Patriots are scoring a shade over 50% of the time.  As shaky as the Bears defense has been, they’re able to stop people a bit over 50% of the time when they get int the red zone.  For the Bears to pull off the victory, they need to stay red hot at both ends of the red zone.
