Chicago Bears: Grading Ugly 51-23 Loss To Patriots
Rushing Offense: B
The Bears knew they would need to get Matt Forte more involved in the offense if they were going to given themselves a chance to win the game. Unfortunately, thanks to penalties and the early deficit in the first half, the running game nearly became an afterthought.
On a positive note, Forte did rush for 114 yards on 19 attempts, good enough for six yards per carry. And Ka’Deem Carrey chipped in with 33 yards on six rushing attempts. Unfortunately, the Bears were forced to abandon the running game as the Patriots began pouring on the points.
Simply put, the Bears need to make a concerted effort to use Forte early and often to set the tone early in the game because the results are usually unfavorable when they fail to do so.
