Ted Thompson is the greatest at making no facial expressions at all. Every time I have ever seen him on tv, there he is…expressionless. I think he did a good job drafting defensive players for the last few years, but you can only overcome injury so much. Quality depth is Ted Thompson’s best quality in my opinion. Tackling is terrible across the whole league now. I think it has everything to do with practice. If they don’t practice tackling in practice, then they are going to suck at it. Period. They need to practice. As for McCarthy, he will be around for quite some time. Marc Trestman on the other hand is going to be run out of Chicago with torches and pitchforks. At least if the fans had their way. In reality, Marc Trestman will be here for the next 2 years win or lose. The Bears don’t fire coaches in midseason, or for under performing. Plus, he is Phil Emery’s hand picked coach. He is not going anywhere. I don’t think Jay Cutler will ever have a serious competitor. They didn’t pay him all that money to bring in competition. They won’t draft a quarterback until they can drop him in 2 more years. You never know, he might be lights out for the rest of the season. Who am I kidding. That’s not going to happen.
So Josh, what is your prediction for Sunday night?
"The NFL has been anything but predictable this season. While it looks like the Packers should win with ease on Sunday night, they will be up against a very desperate Bears team that knows any chance they have to salvage their season is at stake. Anything can happen and in this rivalry it has. I would hope however, the defensive unit for the Pack will play with some fire after an embarrassing outing against the Saints. Aaron Rodgers is just too much for the Bears to handle. The key for the Bears will be keeping the ball out of the hands of Rodgers. I’m counting on Jay Cutler to give #12 a few extra possessions. Go Pack Go!!! Packers 34 Bears 23"
I think the Bears are going to go into Lambeau Field and embarrass themselves on national television. Cutler is going to throw picks, the defense is not going to be able to stop Aaron Rodgers and the Bears will be facing Matt Flynn for half of the fourth quarter. All “optimism” aside, the Bears do have a chance if they stick with Matt Forte running the football. They have to put the game in his hands if they expect to have even a slight chance of winning the football game. I don’t think that is going to happen. Packers win at home with ease. Stupid Bears.
Packers 41 Bears 21
There you have it. I think the Bears are going to go into Lambeau and lay a duce on national television. What do you think Bears fans? Let me know in the comments section below. I want to thank Josh for taking the time out and talking some smack with us this week. Make sure to check out Lombardi Ave to see what it’s like to write about a winning football team. If the Bears can pull out a win on Sunday night, maybe, just maybe I will be in a better mood next week. I really hate bye weeks. I will still root for my team, but I really have lost faith in this season.
