Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Final Score 14-55

In a 14- 55 loss, it’s hard to find any good to point out. The Bears suffered yet another blowout, this time at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. It was a beat down for the ages; a loss that helped the Packers set several records and made us all embarrassed to be Bears fans. This was the sort of loss that makes you hope that Black Monday will come early for the Bears, and the entire coaching staff will be fired. As the game progressed and Aaron Rodgers continued to shred the Bears defense with a smile on his face, it became clear that it’s now time to start planning for next year.

Within the first few series of the game, it seemed there was nothing left to play for but pride. It looked like everyone had given up, but one player continued to fight, and that was Brandon Marshall. Say what you want about Marshall’s out spoken ways this season, but no one can deny that the guy comes to play every week. He has pushed through injuries and doesn’t complain about not getting the ball. He still showed support after the game for his head coach Marc Trestman saying, “he’s our guy.”

More from Chicago Bears News

Marshall’s numbers on Sunday consisted of eight catches, an average of 14 yards per catch, 112 yards total and one touchdown. These stats didn’t come easy; he had to battle for every yard. Without his extra effort the game might have ended at 0-55 because no one else on offense made any plays. Marshall showed heart on Sunday night, something that the rest of his teammates lacked. If more Bears players stepped up and played this way, then maybe they can finish the second half of the season on a high note.
