After the Bears’ 55-14 loss to the Packers last week, Jay Cutler acknowledged that he had to play better in order to give his team a chance to win games. And against the Vikings, Cutler completed 31 of 43 passes for 330 yards to go along with three touchdowns. Although he did have two interceptions, and the team lost the turnover battle, Cutler played well enough to help the Bears put an end to a painful three-game skid.
Alshon Jeffery led the Bears’ aerial attack with 11 catches totaling 135 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Marshall also had a solid outing, chipping in with seven catches for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns, the second of which gave the Bears an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Again, the Vikings are not an elite team by any stretch of the imagination, but you have to beat the bad teams as well as the good ones, and the offense made just enough plays to do exactly that.
