Fantasy Football Week 12: Waiver Wire

TE Coby Fleener, Colts (42%) – It’s been dicey owning either Colts TE because one gets more targets (Fleener) and the other gets the TDs (Allen). While now Dwayne Allen is hurt, so Fleener should see an increase in red zone targets for the next week or two at least. Fleener is coming off a 7 catch, 144 yard day in week 11.

TE Mychal Rivera, Raiders (41%) – Had a down week (3-40), but had an acceptable 5 targets and is still Carr’s safety-valve option.

WR John Brown, Cards (30%) – The drop-off from Carson Palmer to Drew Stanton didn’t look as steep as I thought it would. Brown still got 9 targets (5 catches) and Stanton wasn’t afraid to throw deep.

WR Jarvis Landry, Dolphins (15%) – With all the rookie WRs breaking out the last few weeks, I don’t know why more people aren’t picking up Landry. He’s taken over the #2 WR role across from Mike Wallace, is averaging 7 targets per game over the last three, and has TDs in 2 of his last 3 games.

WR Doug Baldwin, Seahawks (39%) – His production has been inconsistent, but Baldwin is still averaging 8 targets per game over the last five weeks (or since Percy Harvin left). The waiver pickings are slim this time of year, you could do a lot worse than Baldwin as a bye week replacement.

QB Josh McCown, Bucs (20%) – Not as your every week starter or anything, but McCown has had over 20 fantasy points for two weeks in a row, has the notoriously bad Bears pass defense next on the schedule, and the McCown to Mike Evans connection looks a lot like McCown to Alshon Jeffrey last year. I’m stashing him (or Tannehill) in case my starting QB gets hurt in the playoffs.

WR Cody Latimer, Broncos (1%) – Usual starter Emmanuel Sanders is out with a concussion which could lead to more playing time for the talented rookie Latimer. He has as much upside as any of the rookies playing well now (2nd round pick), he just needs a chance. If it takes Sanders a few weeks to clear concussion protocols, Latimore could put up some big numbers and earn more playing time the rest of the way.

RB Daniel  Herron, Colts (1%) – With Ahmad Bradshaw out for the year with a broken leg, Herron is now the Colts #2 RB. There is no chance they are going to rely only on T-Rich, so Herron is a safe bet to get at least 10 touches per game unless the Colts sign someone else (Ben Tate?). Herron isn’t anything special, but it won’t take much to be better than T-Rich.

TE Jacob Tamme, Broncos (2%) – It’s unknown how severe Julius Thomas’ ankle injury is. Early reports are that it’s not that bad, but nothing is offical yet. If Thomas is out, Tamme has value as a back-end TE1.
