The magic ran out for the Lions on Sunday, albeit against an extremely tough Cardinals team on the road. Detroit lost 14-6 to the first-place Cardinals and back into a tie for first in the NFC North with the Packers. Matthew Stafford struggled in the game, throwing for just 183 yards and an interception while Calvin Johnson was held to just five catches for 59 yards on 12 targets. The Lions defense failed to record a sack in the game, which allowed Arizona quarterback Drew Stanton to throw for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit will have to bounce back quickly from the loss in order to keep pace with the Packers for the division lead, but it won’t be easy — they’ll head to New England this weekend to face Tom Brady and the surging Patriots.
