Here we go. Chicago Bears vs. Saints in a Monday night showdown of non epic proportions. I think everyone has checked out from the Bears season now. I know I have. I am still going to watch the game tonight. I am actually predicting a win by the Bears. Why do I predict a win? Because it is the NFL. I watched the Green Bay Packers play the Bills yesterday, and nobody could have predicted that Aaron Rodgers would have one of the worst games in his entire career against the Buffalo Bills. The Saints still have a playoff spot to play for and the Bears are going to ruin their chances. That is my prediction at least.

Speaking of checking out, I believe Saints fans have checked out. It was like pulling teeth to get anything from my cohort this week. We Bears fans know the season is over since the Bears cannot be in the playoffs. The Saints can still make it, but their fans have no faith that they will do anything other than lose if they do. Talk about disappointing seasons, the Saints have been just as bad as the Bears this year. Possibly worse. Anywhoo, this week we briefly had some exchange with John Hendrix from Who Dat Dish. Not much of an exchange. There is no smack talk to be made. Both teams are major disappointments to their fan bases. I guess this is what it feels like when Jacksonville plays Oakland. Ugh… See what I have to resort to there? I have to talk smack about teams worse than the Bears. I am ashamed.

Before we start this week’s edition of talking smack, can you tell our readers a little something about yourself?

"I’m John Hendrix. I’ve been a part of Who Dat Dish for nearly two years, and currently serve as the managing editor. I’m no stranger to football, and have a vast range of knowledge stuck in my brain. I grew up with the Saints, so I know all about the good, bad, and the ugly. Personal note: I’ve visited Chicago before, and I’m a huge supporter of Lou Malnati’s."

We have two 5-8 teams who were projected to be much better before the season begun. The only difference is that this game actually means something to the Saints. They are currently tied for first place without the tie breaker with the Atlanta Falcons. The Bears are feeding at the bottom of the NFC North with nowhere to go. All they can do now is spoil other teams chances for making the playoffs. It is so sad. Did you ever imagine that the Saints would be 5-8 with three games left in the season with a chance to still make the playoffs? What is your biggest disappointment from this season?

"No one would have ever guessed that the New Orleans Saints, let alone the entire NFC South, would be this terrible at this point of the season. It’s rare, but obviously not the first time in the NFL, that a division plays this poor. The Saints, because they are playing in the NFC South, have a great chance and opportunity to make the playoffs. The locker room and environment surrounding the team has a different feel to it, you can just sense that this team is ready to perform. That being said, that has to be the disappointment from this year. It’s taken this long for the team, who was heralded as a Super Bowl favorite, fifteen weeks to want to get this right? That’s just not a good feeling."

And that is where our conversation ended. What else is there to be said? I am sure that ESPN wishes they could flex a different game into this spot, but none the less, here we are. So as I stated before, I believe the Bears will win tonight. I don’t predict how they will win, score or any nonsense like that. They will just win this meaningless game. I would like to thank John Hendrix for taking some time out of his extreamly busy schedule to do some sort of exchange with us. And always…

Go Bears!
