New England Patriots fans celebrated their fourth Super Bowl in the last fifteen years on Wednesday while Chicago Bears fans commemorated the eight year anniversary of the Bears last Super Bowl appearance.  Talk about two franchises headed in different directions.  It occurred to me during the Chicago Bears’ 51-23 loss to the New England Patriots that the Bears and Patriots really have gone in opposite directions since Super Bowl XX.  Following the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX victory, that point became even clearer.

If I could go back and in time and talk to my 12 year old self on January 27, 1986 and ask him which team would have a brighter future, 12 year old me would certainly proclaim the Bears as the team with the most Super Bowls in their future.
