NFL Trades
1.) The Seattle Seahawks traded for All-Pro TE Jimmy Graham. That is not a misprint. Jimmy Graham is going to the best team in the NFC. It wasn’t cheap for the Seahawks to bring Graham in as it cost them Pro Bowl center Max Unger and a 1st round pick. Unger is a top 5 center in the league and losing him will hurt Seattle’s running game, but it is easier to replace a center than it is to find a Jimmy Graham. The rest of the NFC should be very afraid.
2.) The Eagles traded QB Nick Foles to the Rams for QB Sam Bradford. I don’t agree with most of the moves Chip Kelly has made so far, but I definitely respect his guts and conviction in his scheme.
3.) In yet another trade, this one with a direct impact on the Bears, the Detroit Lions traded a 4th & 5th round pick in the year’s draft for All-Pro DT Haloti Ngata and a 7th round pick. It is a nice recovery move by the Lions after losing Ndamukong Suh, who is arguably the best DT in the NFL.
