Some people are questioning the Bears recent free agent signings, so I wanted to take a look back at the positive acquisitions. The Bears signed safety Antrel Rolle during the first wave of free agency and I reached out to Luis Tirado Jr. from GMenHQ to ask him a few questions about the Bears new safety.

Can you tell our readers a little about yourself?
"My name is Luis Tirado Jr. and I’m an Editor over at FanSided.com’s GMenHQ.com which covers everything to do about the New York Giants. Been writing for a little over 16 years and am a huge fan of every New York sports team!"
What can you tell Bears fans about Antrel Rolle?
"Antrel Rolle is a huge pickup for you guys as he was a consistent member of the Giants’ defensive secondary. He’s a great leader and will no doubt be a productive member of the Chicago Bears. He didn’t miss a single game for five straight years."
How much will the Giant’s Defense miss Rolle?
"The Giants will definitely miss Rolle. Once it was announced that he was leaving for the Bears via free agency, it hit many members of the locker room pretty hard as he was a mentor and leader. While he did show a sign of decline, he brought much more to the table than just tackles and interceptions."
Do you think the Giant’s should have tried to keep Rolle?
"It is in my humble opinion that the Giants should have kept Rolle for his leadership presence and the fact that he still has a few good years of playing football left in him. Granted, he’s not the player he was a few years ago but looking at the safety market, it’s not like he’s the worst. I would have kept him for at least another year or two. He would have came back, I’m sure, if he got a decent offer but the Giants wanted to head in a different and younger direction at safety."
How close are the Giants to taking back the NFC East?
"The Giants made a few decent moves in free agency and will definitely add some more pieces to the puzzle at the 2015 NFL Draft. Due to Rolle’s departure and the fact that they didn’t really acquire any replacement via free agency, they will most likely draft a safety in the first round. If they can add a quality replacement, some more offensive linemen and another pass rusher, they will be competitive come next season. The NFC East has dramatically changed this offseason. It’s there for the taking by any team that finds the formula to win as many games as possible in the division."
I want to thank Luis for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer our questions about the Bears new safety Antrel Rolle. Make sure you check out GMenHQ for all your New York Giants info.
