With the draft just roughly a month away Bear Goggles On will be breaking down a wide range of options for the Chicago Bears 2015 draft. We’ll profile different positions and different rounds where players who might fit with the Bears new management regime.

Measurables – 6″2″ | 306
Attributes (40 / vertical / broad jump / 3-cone) – 5.50 | 27″ | 8′ | 4.58
College: A 4-year starter for the Eagles, Andy Gallik has been the anchor of an offensive line that routinely produces NFL caliber talent. He was a finalist for the Rimington award last season and was an All-ACC selection in 2013 and 2014. Andy Gallik was a team captain.
Strengths: Andy Gallik started 41 career games for Boston college, giving him both experience and favorable marks for durability. Highly instinctive and able to make decisions quickly. A real glass-eater, Andy Gallik has the toughness and demeanor that offensive line coaches love to coach. He’s a high motor player. Andy Gallik anchors extremely well against bigger defensive linemen.
Weaknesses: Andy Gallik is limited athletically and has average size. He struggles getting to the second level and pulling. Andy Gallik comes out of his stance a little high at times.
Bears Fit: The Bears have a clear need at the center position after releasing longtime starter Roberto Garza earlier this offseason, and Andy Gallik could be the guy to fill that need. We don’t yet know what blocking scheme the Bears will use in 2015, but Andy Gallik could be a solid fit if they go with a power scheme. Power schemes prize technique and mental ability to recognize opposing blitz packages over athleticism, and Andy Gallik has both of those in spades. I don’t think he will be a perennial Pro Bowler, but Andy Gallik could be a solid starting NFL center for years to come.
Draft Projection: Round 3-4
