With the NFL Schedule set to be released tonight, there will inevitably be a few leaks ahead of the official release. Packers insider Rob Demovsky is reporting that the Packers will host the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving night:
First bit of schedule information: Packers will host the Bears on Thanksgiving night. #ESPNNFL

The Bears played on Thanksgiving last season, a disappointing 34-17 loss after the Bears opened up a 14-3 first quarter lead. The Lions went on to score three second quarter touchdowns, including a pair in the last 3:18, to blow the game wide open. The Packers last played on Thanksgiving in 2013, a 40-10 loss to the same Detroit Lions. Of course, that was without Aaron Rodgers.
If the report holds true, this would be the first Packers home Thanksgiving game since 1923. It feels like that’s the last time the Bears beat the Packers, but of course it’s not. The Bears beat the Packers in Lambeau in 2013 when Shea McClellin knocked Aaron Rodgers out in prime time. The Packers dropped a double nickel on the Bears in a 55-14 trouncing last November.
The Packers are scheduled to honor noted Bear killer Brett Favre this season, so when better to host his ceremony than against the Bears in prime time:
And perhaps that #Packers-Bears Thanksgiving night game could be the @Favre4Official jersey retirement ceremony.

Let’s hope that John Fox and Vic Fangio have the Bears defense better prepared than the group last season or that Thanksgiving meal won’t settle very well. At least the game is scheduled for the evening after most of the Thanksgiving hype should be winding down.
What do you think? Are you excited to see the Bears playing on Thanksgiving again this season? Does this mess up your holiday plans? Are you going to skip out on the early Black Friday shopping to watch the Bears and Packers?
