Before Jerry Seinfeld became a household name and while Emmanuel Lewis (I keep wanted to write Emmanuel Sanders!) was making Webster a favorite sitcom, William “The Refrigerator” Perry captured a nation’s attention. The Bears rookie defensive tackle burst onto the scene not for his defensive prowess but for what he did on offense. Perry made his national debut on Monday Night Football and never looked back. In the midst of the 1985 season, en route to Super Bowl XX, Perry stopped by Letterman’s show to talk about his weight, his diet and the Beloved Chicago Bears.
