Latest Chicago Bears News: Inside Cutler’s House, Forte and Much More

Happy Hump Day, BEARS FANS!!!  I’ve decided to try to resurrect an old favorite of mine, Bear Dawn.  It’s the latest Chicago Bears news from around the interwebs.   Here’s what you need to know for Wednesday June 10, 2015…

ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson, following up on a KC Joyner piece (Insider access required), thinks the Bears have an uphill climb to get out of the NFC North cellar, with the Vikings as a tough team to beat.

"A healthy and motivated Peterson, paired with Bridgewater, is intriguing on offense. Like almost every year, the Packers remain the team to beat, but if I had to pick one NFC North team that can potentially unseat Green Bay in the fall — I take the Vikings."

There are team friendly contracts and then there’s Jay Cutler‘s contract, named the NFL’s worst contract from a team perspective.

"“Coaches brought in to help Cutler keep getting fired. Meanwhile, Cutler keeps cashing fat checks. Although the true guarantees in his deal were reasonable on paper, the Bears became accountable for another $25 million after Cutler remained on the roster long enough for injury-only guarantees to become fully guaranteed.”"

Thanks again for that one Phil!

Speaking of Cutler, Elle Magazine (yes, I read it.  You got a problem with that?!?!) popped in on the Cutler’s home in Nashville.  Here’s just a vomit-inducing sampling:

"“Cam is so happy that he’s here,” Cavallari notes of her eldest son, who is never far from his father’s leg. Best known as the recalcitrant quarterback for the Chicago Bears, Cutler is large but not imposing. With crystal blue eyes, hulking arms, and a slightly sloped chin, he resembles an overgrown frat king. But whether he’s tussling with Camden or preparing bacon for breakfast, the Vanderbilt alum has the focused discipline of a father whose time is professionally bifurcated. Case in point: He has just flown in the previous night for this shoot and the family will depart back to Chicago on Monday in time for organized team activities and preseason obligations. But when he is at home he is neither football star nor recluse: He’s simply Dad."

Take a look inside for more if you dare…

Kevin Fishbain and Arthur Arkush speculate who starts at defensive end now that Ray McDonald has been booted.

Chicago Football’s Hub Arkush opens up his mail bag to answer some questions about a potential Kyle Long position change, surprise cuts and who will start a linebacker.

Da Bears Beat’s Jonathan Wood wonders what a timeshare might mean for Mat Forte.

While Martellus Bennett is away, Zach Miller gets to play.  More reps please.
