The rule of quarterbacks holds true here with first overall pick Jameis Winston set to make a serious rookie of the year campaign. Say what you will about his choices off the field, but when the lights are on, Winston has always showed up.

He had an incredible college career that included winning a Heisman Trophy and a National Championship as a freshman, and having a 26-1 career record as the starting quarterback for Florida State. Winston has a legitimate NFL arm, and has grown in an NFL-style of offense at Florida State.

Winston now enters an exciting situation with the Buccaneers. Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter is a coach for Winston to learn from, and even more importantly, he has a host of intriguing weapons to work with in the offense. Mike Evans is one of the best young receivers in the game, Vincent Jackson can certainly still make some noise and Austin Seferian-Jenkins has some major upside at the tight end position.

For being the number one overall pick, Winston fell in a favorable situation. That, plus his obvious ability at the quarterback position makes him a strong rookie of the year threat.
