Eddie Royal

Wide receiver Eddie Royal is a player I feel is flying lowest under the radar.  Alshon Jeffery and rookie first round draft pick Kevin White have been stealing all of the headlines, while newcomer Eddie Royal has been super stealth.

Royal is going to be having a reunion of sorts.  Out with one former Broncos teammate and in with another for Jay Cutler.  Brandon Marshall is messing with the New York media while Royal will fill a niche that the Bears offense has been desperately seeking – a true slot receiver.

The Bears employed the philosophy of just getting giant targets for Jay Cutler in recent years, but in doing so, the offense became very stagnant and predictable.  Our own Mike Flannery thinks Royal could really help Jay Cutler and the Bears offense:

"Giving Cutler a slot receiver who can get open consistently should improve his overall productivity and limit the desperation balls Cutler threw up for grabs last season because he didn’t have a better option. Royal has already earned Cutler’s trust from their time together in Denver and could quickly take over for Brandon Marshall as Cutler’s safety valve. The already established rapport with Cutler, the lack of competition for the slot role, and Royal’s precise route running ability could lead to the best numbers of Royal’s career and a breakout season in 2015."

What do you think?  Who else is flying under the radar?  Which player might surprise us in training camp?
