I have to admit, I was ready to put Will Sutton on the trade block or the scrap heap when the Bears decided to switch to a 3-4 defense.  Sutton was drafted in the third round last year to play 3-technique in a 4-3 defense.  It looked like he’d be a square peg in that round hole, a man without a position in Vic Fangio’s new scheme.  Guess again.  Sutton is carving out a role as a 5-technique (that’s defensive end) in Fangio’s three-man front.  He’s shown good burst as a pass rusher while maintaining the edge on running downs.  With a void in defensive ends on the Bears roster, it’s a good bet Sutton will get a spot come September.
