Wide Receiver

DeSean Jackson, MIA (81%, 10) – The Dolphins D should be much better this season, D-Jax will likely see a lot of Brent Grimes, and I just don’t trust anything about the Redskins offense this season. He could still have a solid fantasy game, it only takes one big play really, I just think the odds are sub 50% that D-Jax has one this week.

Sammy Watkins, IND (67%, 10) – The Colts gave up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to WRs last year and I am taking a wait and see approach on new Bills QB Tyrod Taylor. He showed some potential during the preseason and Watkins could very well have a big game, but someone has to go on this list.

Larry Fitzgerald, NO (43%, 10) – Had three or less catches in three of the first four games with Carson Palmer last year and in most games just wasn’t a primary target. That could change this year, but Fitz is a year older and the Cards have more explosive weapons in John Brown and Michael Floyd. If Fitz is more involved this year, then you won’t see him on this list again, but I want some proof before I use a starting fantasy slot on him.

Torrey Smith, MIN (20%, 9) – I have zero faith in QB Colin Kaepernick, which makes it hard for me to trust his primary deep threat against a quality secondary like Minnesota’s.

Tight End

Zach Ertz, @ATL (22%, 6) – I am a fan of his talent, but with Ertz a likely game-time decision on Monday it’s way to risky to count on him as your starter this week. If he is healthy and does play, then he should exceed his projected point total, but if he doesn’t Monday night will be too late to find a replacement.

Vernon Davis, MIN (20%, 6) – Was awful last year and nothing about the Niners offseason makes me think he will be any better in 2015. Davis has the talent to prove me wrong, but I’ll need to see him have a couple solid games before he makes it into any of my lineups.
