Matt Forte Nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Week

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte started off the 2015 season with a bang, rattling off 141 rushing yards in the Bears’ 31-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers. To recognize Forte’s outstanding effort, he’s been nominated to be the FedEx Ground Player of the Week:
"FedEx is kicking off its 13th annual FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week program for the 2015 season. Every week during the regular season, three quarterbacks and three running backs are nominated by the NFL for the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week based on performance.Bears Matt Forte was nominated for his outstanding performance against the Green Bay Packers (had 24 carries for 141 yards (5.9 avg.) and a touchdown). Fans can go to NFL.com/FedEx to vote – if Forte wins, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to New York’s local chapter of the American Red Cross."
Other nominees for the award include New York Jets running back Chris Ivory rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ 31-10 victory against the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-3 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Forte is no stranger to the FedEx Ground Player awards. He was named the Week 5 Ground Player of the Week in 2010 after his dazzling 166 yard, two TD performance against the Carolina Panthers. Forte was also a finalist for the FedEx Ground Player of the Year for 2013 after finishing second in the NFL in rushing for 1339 yards.
