Week 2 Picks:

Note: Only players started in less than 75% of Yahoo leagues will be eligible for the start’em category. The purpose of this column is advice on players that might not be every week starters. I’ll usually list at least one “Deep Sleeper” pick for players started in less than 10% of Yahoo leagues who I think are under-projected.

If you have questions about specific players, hit me up on Twitter or in the comment section and I will get back to you before this weekends games. Good luck in your fantasy match-ups this week and go Bears!

Start’em

Quarterback

Eli Manning, ATL (51%, 17) – I’m not going to overreact to one sub-par game by Eli and one good half of defense from ATL. This should be a good match-up for the Giants offense, they may have Victor Cruz back, and I think ODB has a huge game.

Ryan Tannehill, @JAX (41%, 17) – Another guy I’m not ready to give up on despite a lackluster start against what was a really bad defense last season. Tannehill still has plenty of weapons and the talent to run up the score on the Jags D.

Sam Bradford, DAL (32%, 16) – Had an ugly first half, but finished with 336 passing yards on the day and looked unstoppable in the 2nd half. The 4th quarter interception hit his WR in the hands, so that shouldn’t be held against Bradford. I really liked what I saw in the 2nd half and think Bradford could be viable starting QB in fantasy (while healthy at least).

Carson Palmer, @CHI (15%, 17) – As much as it pains me to recommend a starter against the Bears, their D didn’t show much pass rush or cover skill in week 1. Palmer looked sharp against the Saints and could have a big day against our Bears on Sunday. Hopefully not though!

Marcus Mariota, @CLE (11%, 15) – I keep warning people not to over-react to one game, but I’m 100% on board with Mariota. He was playing a mediocre defense on Sunday, but looked like a seasoned pro and may have put up 40+ fantasy points if he played at all in the 4th quarter. His rushing ability should be another fantasy bonus in closer games.
