2) Matt Forte Brings Consistency

Unlike the quarterback position and pretty much everywhere else on offense, Matt Forte has been consistent throughout the first two games. He’s had some split carries with Jacquizz Rodgers and Jeremy Langford but he continues to have an impact when on the field.

He didn’t pass 100 yards rushing in Week 2, but through the first two games, Forte has 202 rushing yards, 9 receptions and one rushing touchdown on 39 carries.

He’s not blowing the door off in this offense, but he’s being utilized more than he was under the Trestman era. With Jay Cutler now being out with an injury, it would not be a surprise to see the team lean heavily on Forte and the entire run game.

However, with the lack of push from the offensive line, Forte may not burst out with huge games even during Cutler’s absence. You can count on Matt Forte to play in every single game and give his best effort like he did against Arizona, but he’ll need help if he wants to be more than just a gamer.
