The Bears also lost safety Antrel Rolle to injury on Sunday. His injury actually looked like the worse of the two when it happened, but MRI results were negative on Rolle’s ankle and he should only miss a few weeks at most. Unfortunately the Bears have less options at safety to replace Rolle than they do at center. On the current roster undrafted free agent Harold Jones-Quartey, who the Bears picked up from the Cardinals after final cuts, and five-year veteran Chris Prosinski, who the Bears signed last week, are really the only options to replace Rolle in the starting lineup. Its possible they could find a better option on waivers but if there was one the Bears probably would have signed him instead of Prosinski. I’m glad the Bears released Brock Vereen otherwise they probably would have had to play him this week by default.

It was a big win for the Bears on Sunday. 1-3 feels a lot better than 0-4, but the Bears have two important holes to fill before next week. If they are going to have a chance to be 2-3 after next week, the Bears new management team needs to make the right decisions at two important positions.
