Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

Every week on Tuesday, I will be posting my top Fantasy Football waiver wire pick ups for the week. Only players owned in under 50% of Yahoo leagues will qualify. There are all sorts of leagues out there with different levels of competition and varying player pool depths, so I will have a few picks with under 50% ownership, a few under 30%, 15%,  and usually at least one deep sleeper under 5%.

The players are listed by position first, then by the order that I would add them. If there are any players that you have a specific question about feel free to hit me up in the comments or on Twitter.

Week 5 Waiver Wire Picks:

Quarterback

Jay Cutler, CHI (25% owned) – With the expected return of WR Alshon Jeffrey and Cutler nearing 100% health, he should be a solid fantasy backup the rest of the way.

Blake Bortles, JAX (18%) – I know you didn’t expect to see Bortles on this list, but he’s averaging over 20 fantasy points per game the last three weeks, had a 5 TD / 1 INT ratio over that stretch, and has some talented receiving weapons in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns.
