4. The Vikings have struggled in recent visits to Soldier Field to face the Bears. Why have they had such a hard time in Chicago? What do they need to do differently to come away with a win on Sunday?
I don’t think that Chicago is the specific problem. The Vikings struggled on the road for a long time, especially against division opponents. Before Sunday’s win in Detroit, it was more likely that there would be a Summer Olympics than a Minnesota division road win in the last half decade. Despite that, don’t think that the Vikings don’t know the struggle they’ve had at Soldier Field, as only 3 players on the current Vikings roster were on the team last time they won there.
5. Who is an under the radar player on each side of the ball for the Vikings that could make a difference in the outcome?
I’d love to say Eric Kendricks, but the guy just won the defensive rookie of the month award, so he’s not eligible anymore. But the guy you should be watching is Linval Joseph. Defensive tackles don’t get enough love these days and this big fella has been an absolute beast.
On the other side of the ball, Vikings fans should watch for Vladimir Ducasse. At one time, Teddy Bridgewater said that “This is as much Vlad Ducasse’s team as mine”. Honestly, I’m pretty happy that he’s a Chicago Bear instead of Viking these days.
Bonus – What’s your prediction for the game? Please include a final score.
23-16 Vikings. As much as I hate games where the Minnesota Vikings are expected to win, I think they’ll break the curse of Soldier Field and stay unbeaten in the division. The pressure will be too much for Cutler and we’ll see a LOT of field goal attempts in this game.
