Adam Gase & His Play Calling

The case of Adam Gase is a peculiar one. On one hand you can look at the way he has handled Jay Cutler, and though Cutler may not be putting up elite numbers, the eye test will tell you that the 32 year old signal caller is playing some of the best football of his NFL career.

I would put my money down on Gase being the creative, innovative coordinator that has made him a head coaching target for the 2016 offseason.

However, Gase has two spectrums. On one side of the spectrum, you have Gase dialing up a Jeremy Langford goal line run that utilized an exotic look and had defensive tackle Mitch Unrein playing the fullback position. On the total opposite side of the spectrum is the opening series versus the Minnesota Vikings where Gase called numerous bubble screen plays. It’s understandable that the accomplished offensive coordinator may have just been feeling out the Vikings quick defense, but the fact that he had to run the play more than a few times times – and basically forfeit a series – was straight out appalling. So, which Gase will show up during prime time, Monday Night Football? I am not 100% sure, but I would put my money down on Gase being the creative, innovative coordinator that has made him a head coaching target for the 2016 offseason. We shall see come Monday night.
